Arfan Iqbal

Dr Arfan Iqbal is the Principal Dentist at Sandes Avenue Dental Practice, with a special interest in Oral Surgery, Dental Implants, and Restorative Dentistry. He qualified from Manchester Dental School in 2001 and began his clinical journey at the renowned Dundee Dental Hospital, gaining invaluable experience in busy referral clinics alongside some of the country’s leading consultants.

It was here that Arfan developed a deep interest in Cosmetic and Advanced Restorative Dentistry, which led him to pursue further qualifications and earn membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, one of the most prestigious achievements in dentistry.

Over the years, Arfan has worked with respected organisations including BUPA and Colgate, providing a wide range of cosmetic treatments and building a reputation for clinical excellence and outstanding patient care. Today, he works between practices in Kendal and Preston, where he regularly accepts referrals from fellow dentists for oral surgery, implant cases, and complex cosmetic procedures.

Passionate about staying at the forefront of his field, Arfan frequently travels both nationally and internationally to train in the latest techniques and innovations in dentistry. He is also one of the few dentists in the UK to hold Dental Phobia Certification, reflecting his compassionate and calming approach, especially with nervous or anxious patients.

What Arfan enjoys most is helping patients regain their confidence, many of whom haven’t seen a dentist in years due to fear or embarrassment about their smile. His greatest reward is seeing these individuals leave the practice smiling with renewed confidence, knowing they’ve been cared for with kindness and expertise.

In addition to general and cosmetic dentistry, Arfan also provides facial aesthetic treatments, including Botox and dermal fillers, helping patients feel more confident in their appearance.

Outside the practice, Arfan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and is a keen badminton player.
