John-Paul Curtis

John-Paul — or JP, as most people know him — is the Lead Dental Receptionist at Sandes Avenue Dental Practice. Originally from Washington, Tyne & Wear, JP started his working life in factories and warehouses before moving to Kendal in 2016, where he found his calling in hospitality and event management.

With years of experience leading teams and running large events, JP brought his warm personality, people skills, and organisational flair into the world of dentistry in March 2024 — and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s quickly developed a genuine passion for the dental field and is always eager to learn more so he can continue providing the best possible support to patients and the team.

As the first face many patients see, JP takes great pride in making everyone feel welcome, relaxed, and looked after from the moment they step through the door. One of the most rewarding parts of his role is watching patients regain their confidence through treatment — and being there to cheer them on every step of the way.

Outside of work, JP is a self-confessed nerd who loves hiking in the Lakes with his little dog, watching sci-fi and fantasy films, and getting lost in games that are, in his words, “even nerdier than the movies.”
