Usman Zafar

Dr Usman Zafar is one of the Principal Dentists at Sandes Avenue Dental Practice and has been caring for patients here since 2018. He has a special interest in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, having completed a four-year Master’s degree (MClinDent) with Distinction from King’s College London.

Originally qualifying from the University of Aberdeen in 2016, Usman began his career in a busy general practice in Banff, Scotland. The variety and complexity of cases he treated early on gave him a solid foundation in diagnosing and managing dental conditions to a high standard and sparked a lifelong commitment to clinical excellence.

With a calm, empathetic approach, Usman takes particular pride in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, helping patients who may struggle to eat comfortably or feel self-conscious about their smile. He regularly uses minimally invasive techniques such as Teeth Whitening and Composite Bonding, and is highly experienced in crowns, onlays, dentures, bridges, and implant-retained prostheses.

Known for his clear communication and gentle manner, he’s especially passionate about supporting nervous patients and building trust through open, honest conversations. For Usman, dentistry is as much about rebuilding confidence as it is about restoring smiles.

Outside of the practice, Usman enjoys badminton, travelling, and cooking, often combining his love of food and culture when exploring new places. These hobbies keep him balanced and connected, both in and out of the clinic.
